Everything online moves so fast, the rise of social networking sites like Facebook shows just how quickly new ideas take off. Who knows what will be the ‘big thing’ in 2010 and beyond. Now is a great time to run an online business because of the rate of new innovations (who had heard of a blog in the year 2000?), means the potential to create a website worth thousands or even millions of pounds is there.

The Future of .CO.UK

At the start of 2008 I acquired paperback.co.uk and multivitamin.co.uk, they are currently not actual websites, simply a web address. Web addresses with the .CO.UK extension are not worth anywhere near as much as .COM, this is for several reasons, market size being a key one. Despite this UK web surfers have high trust in .CO.UK extensions and the value of them is naturally rising over the years, this makes them a solid investment. I purchased the domains at a decent price, once developed into full websites (will take many months) and properly launched and promoted we will have to see how successful they will be. If they turn out to be regular profit makers they could each be worth 5 figure sums.

The number of people across the web getting broadband (and the internet for the first in time in some countries) means now is a great time to set up an established online business, it is a market with the number of consumers increasing all the time! For this reason the Jack Jones Network will be around for a while yet, even if anything else comes up (other business opportunity etc) the business could still be scaled down to manage just a few sites and still have a profitable existence.
